How to drain the diff, no plug.

Hello, I was looking at draining my diff to fill with some new oil. The manual indicated there is a drain plug at the bottom back of the diff. I can't see and plug for draining, only what looks like a locating stud right on the lower lip of the back cover. I can see the fill pulg. Any advice?

there is a drain plug, its the lower middle bolt on the rear casing I think.

Correct - It doesn't look like a drain plug, It's an M8 bolt, the bottom one in the middle of the six.

Cheers, but all the bolts look the same from what I can see. So I guess one of them also acts as the drain plug?

Yeah, they all look the same, on the bottom half you can see 6 bolts, it's the 3rd from the left and the 3rd from the right - ie the middle one

Just refurbed my diff.

Make sure you can lossen the filler plug beofre you drain the oil just to be sure you can refill.

Also, when you refill back up to the filler plug level dont be suprised if you get oil dripping down the rear of the diff after your first drive....this will be excess oil venting out of the valve on on top of the diff. Apparently they did this from new as a dealer was telling me....if this happens it should happen for a while until the oil level drops a little.
