Exhaust Wrap?

What is it with the awful search facility?! I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I can't find any threads about wrapping manifolds, to try and reduce underbonnet temperatures. I've got a speed 6 - is it worth wrapping the manifolds?

Wrapping won't do any harm, but I wouldn't worry too much about it - it does get hot in there .

There were some warning about using exhaust wrap a while back....something about making sure you completely seal the manifold as any 'gaps' mean excessive localised heat ...or something like that? I bought wrap to do my V8 with the intention of wrapping the manifolds in situ but after the warnings on here I thought better of it.

Think its better to get them coated? (and more costly and obviously involves removing them).
