I've just had a new clutch, flywheel etc fitted (The newer lighter version) due to broken fingers and I'm sure that the car is now alot faster than it was, especially on acceleration.

When I originally picked it up from the garage after the work it wasn't running well so went back and they identified a lambda sensor was loose, put it all back together and now it's fantatsic!

Why is it faster?

a, The new flywheel is lighter, therefore acceleration is better.

b, The lambda sensor has been "iffy" for a while therefore it's not been right for a while.

c, The old clutch was on its way out, therefore not transmitting all of the power to the wheels effectively, especially under load/acceleration.

d, I just haven't driven it for ages and forgotten how good it really is.

e, It's just faster and I don't need a reason. OK?!

Answers on a postcard.......

Me too!

just got mine back from 6k service and its flying. Thought it was my imagination until earlier today.....

Driving through town and noticed a big, black Suzuki sports bike (must have been 600cc+) going out of his way to stick to my rear on the way to a dual carriageway. When we got onto dually, he was in left lane, me in right with other traffic in front. I let him out into my lane in front of me and when the traffic ahead of him cleared, I could see him kicking down a couple of gears and tucking down to give it some. He started about 30yds in front. I changed down to 3rd and floored it. Couldn't believe I was actually catching him! Had to back off! Caught up with more traffic, but when we cleared it and had the road to ourselves, we both went for it again. He did the same tuck-down, change-down and went for it. This time I kept it going and actually overtook him! Couldn't believe it. we backed off, gave each other a wave and went our separate ways.

I love my Cerb.

Finally I can say " It's back ".
In for 3 weeks just before christmas for 12K service
Clutch fingers failed 1 week after christmas (8 weeks off the road).
1 day for MOT
I have been bled dry and need a full year without any expence.
Purchased car Aug last year and wondered how I would get through winter weather, to date the car (a.k.a. the Sponge ) this winter has not seen ice/snow/road salt not bad for my only car. thanks to 3 courtesy cars and a moped...

Taking it easy at present and looking forward to summer blasts, the grin factor is returning.

Reply to B19CER....Although not a Hooligan, if I ever find a big bike who wants to 'play', I always do - I wonder how many other cars give them a run for their money?

My Cerb is always faster when I'm in it than last time
