I'm too well endowed

Just got back from having the R888s fitted. Had to go with 40 profiles on the front. Now the wheel arch is full to the brim! Straight ahead I have a couple of mm spare, but when turning they are going to rub

Is this a common problem with those of you running 888s? If so what's the solution? (did someone sometime mention shaving the wheel arches?) If so how hard/expensive is this to do (remember I wont be doing the work myself )

I suppose the Brands TD on Tuesday will be the test of how bad it gets

I had heard that you have trouble getting rubber to fit and that they are always too big for you.

Gruffalo is going along with a few others in variety of road cars. 5 of us going. Cerb 4.5 on it's new suspension. My e36 m3 a very tail happy CL 55 AMG, a jag XKR and a e46 M3 CSL. I was at Brands on an evening trackday on Thursday and am posting from there now. Feel like I live here at the moment.

Is the suspension height adjustable? You could (get) it raised by a few mm all round

Its not the height, its the width. The problem is the bottom of the body either side, if you get my drift. I'll take it over to Austec next week and see what can be done.

Yup, i know what you mean. When my original set of Toyo's (255/35/18) expired, I replaced them with a set of michelin tyres of the same size, but they rubbed on the rear. It turns out that the Michelins had a squarer profile. Raised the suspension and rubbing went away. In the end I took the michelins off as they were too hard, and kept spinning up.

Now I need to keep the suspension high, so i can cart about a certain persons luggage....

What size wheels are you using. I have the R888's on a set of RL 17" with 40 profile and don't have a problem with rubbing the arches.

Therein lies the problem Graham. I stuck them on my 18s

Left it with Austec this morning for some emergency bodywork alterations. A little slice here, a little grind there. This car wont beat me (only financially perhaps)

Remember watching a clip of Graig's NOS Cerb running a 1/4 mile somewhere, had had borrowed some wheels/tyres if I remember and they rubbed on the arches pretty much the full length of the strip and he still won.
