Thoughts about selling...

Had Chim for 4 years...bought the Cerb a couple of years back...its tip top now, a couple of winters up-grading, painting, polishing, etc but...I miss dropping the roof and going for a pootle...not a blast, just a cruise!

I love the Cerbera...it some car...nothing like them...that AJP...man...I know I would also miss the Cerb, it such an entertaining, thrilling car and I feel like my life has been enriched by owning a Cerb and nothing will come close but...

...cant shake the thought that I could sell/swap for a really good Chim/Griff...maybe tuscan/Tamora and enjoy roof down motoring?

Ideally I would have two TVR's, the Cerb and another, but that simply isnt possible at the moment...damn!

75% certain I will keep the Cerb...its that other 25%...

Yes...I know...I know...

My Cerb is a second car, most of my journeys are local...I spend most of them warming the Cerb up! I used to leave the Chim in the garage with the roof off...look out of the window...sunny day...fire her up and off for a blast! Miss the simplicity if you know what I mean.

Then again...when that AJP is warmed up...

You say 2 TVR's isn't possible.

Do all you can to make it possible - you then have an awesome combination.

It's exactly as you say, I thought the Chimaera was quick, now I have the Cerbera too the Chimaera is for pootling!

.... I would consider swapping my '97 450 for a Cerb.

I did have both but in the end I sold the chim as I couldnt walk past the cerb to get into the chim. I know what you meen though but every time I start the cerb up all thoughts of the chim are gone.

I polished up the Chimaera to sell and then could not bring myself to part with it. It depends what you want the car for. I walked past it every time to the Tuscan so after a year of warming up up round the block and not much else (apart from stand in when engine was rebuilt) it was sold.

Ask yourself the question, what do you want it to do for you?

I went from a Griff to a Cerbie and then I had a Griff again and now I am back with a Cerbie after about 18 months away from Tiv's.

Coming back to TVR's I knew there was only one car that would have me grinning like a cheshire cat again. I really enjoyed my Griff's and the whole roof off experience (with the exception of the odd leak here and there!. I have also driven a Chim and similarly loved the car but the Cerbera is a totally different beast and for me there is absolutely no contest.
Given it's stunning looks (and may I say how nice yours looks in blue with the black SP12's) and that exhilarating AJP8 performance, there can surely only be one winner

I've had both, so I understand your dilema. They are very different cars, the Cerb is much more Hard core, and you really have do drive it to make it worthwile. Although you can sort of cruise around in a Cerb, it isn't really that enjoyable, and also pretty pointless. On the other hand the Chim is great for crusing around on a Sunny day with the roof down, and it's also a hoot if you want to have a blast. Follow your heart and make the choice

Why not do a sunroof conversion, there was something posted up a little while back. Chop the roof off, and put a removable section in there. Windows down, roof off, would be lush, but watch high speed as you'd blow the rear window out!

I often have this same thought. My issues are;

I don't want an inferior car performance wise.
I think the cerb is a better looking car than the chim and griff
If I sold my cerb and I wanted another one again it would be difficult to find one in the condition my one is in.
I don't think my cerb would be that easy to sell on, colour scheme, cat c etc

I think my ideal car would be an LS engined targa top sag like the one plasticman made.

I think the solution is get raceproved or who ever it was to put a sunroof in.

Muckyman - Thanks for the offer - think I want a Griff...if only because I havent had one before?

No point getting a speed six engined car becasue of the same warming up issue as the AJP V8...not that I thrash any car from cold but you know what I mean.

AllezWasps - (and may I say how nice yours looks in blue with the black SP12's) - thanks for that...I love Cerb looks and this is one of the things that attracted me to my car in the first place...

Stuthemong - saw the sunroof at Chatsworth whilst there in my Cerb with the TVRCC NE lads - not for me...i can see the attraction for some though.

Really cant decide at the moment...guess it would depend on what griff I could get or what my car would sell for..? If I post the details would you give me an idea of what you think my Cerb is worth (serious replies only!)...? Sometimes see cars for sale at £10K and think 'wow that looks a bargain' and then see others at £12K & £14K and think thats more like it...

I was hoping you guys would say nearer £14k than £10k...not sure how much the plate adds to the price...on its own I would guess its not worth much but it looks quite good on the Cerb. The car is booked into SSCC towards the end of the month for a geo set up, corner weighting and general check up / tune...it really is mint!

Ad looks good. You could always use the plate and wheels as a negtiation point. ie if they want money off then these are removed. You could sell the plate for a few hundred and you could probably sell the wheels to someone (who could possibly px their spiders in with you).
