For those of you at Brands this evening (and a top evening it was) - here are the pics of the aftermath of the CL55AMG where the Bridgestone RE050 gave out on the Pit Straight.

Hopefully there will not be a bill for the marks in the tarmac from the rim...

Believe me it looked a lot scarier when you were driving the car directly behind it when it blew! Sadly my camera memory card was full by that point or I would have had it on video. Well done to the driver for keeping hold of it - it was very touch and go!

It was fairly scary from the passenger seat. When we came to a stop on the grass I just gave him a shake of the hand and a "well held sir"

Morning Tanguero, I must say your Cerb is absolutely stunning, if you post any video footage of when I was in front of you I would appreciate it is you could send me the link, I was in the Rosso Red Cerb Reg F14FFY (meant to be FLUFFY but that was as close as I could find)

No problem - I will have a look through it and see what I can find for you.

I was at about 3 car lengths behind the Merc with an instructor when we saw the tyre start to go on the pit straight. I backed off as hard as was safe while trying to guess if it was going to hit the pit wall or grandstand armco first! Hats off to the driver for hanging onto it - that was a seriously impressive recovery.

From the amount of arm twirling Jason was doing I would put it down to a fair bit of skill combined with pinch of luck.

When are you popping your sprinting cherry? I see you are registered in the championship.

Dates/family life keep conspiring against me, although I am booked for a sprint with the B&H Motor Club to do Goodwood in early August and then of course the Brighton Speed Trials again in September, so at the very least I will have doubled my sprint quota in 2010. Onwards and upwards

If I can squeeze a southern TVRCC sprint in somewhere I will
