What I don't get is that the corner of the outriggers are clearly visible with the car on a ramp or with the wheels off.

So how many MoTs have have missed this decay - it surely hasn't happened in the last 12 months!

It didn't look too bad when it went in. I guess a good a session with a hammer and podger helped to find the rot.

The main chassis is ok near the engine bay. They are replacing the outriggers front and rear, as well as the rails going front to rear. Also the braces halfway down. Should get the car back at the weekend, the garage has been taking loads of progress pictures so it will be both scary & interesting at the same time.

98 car by chance, when i was looking it was either very early cars or late cars that had the better chassis unless they already had the work done.

That's pretty shocking stuff! Considering I had it waxoiled 3 times in 5 years, and the bloke I bought her off did the same, that's a lot of damage. It must had rotted from the inside out....

When I built the Ultima, I used 4 large tins of waxoil that I injected into all the chassis tubes. Perhaps that would be a good move with the Cerb.
