basic wiring question, help please

I am in the process of putting a 97 4.2 back together that I bought with a blown engine, would some one be good enough as explain how the wiring goes back together around alternator / 100 amp fuse / starter / battery.
I have a cable from the alternator onto the fuse which was in place I would just like some confirmation as to how the rest goes together, wouldn't want to turn the whole thing into a heater now would we!

After i've cleaned up the devastation here from yesterdays performance at the footie i'll have a check for you but from what i can gather, if my memory serves me correctly, it's really quite obvious. The starter has two fairly chunky red cables going to it which come from the direction of the battery. There are two that go to the alternator, one large - one small. The large one (i think) goes straight to the big fuse. If you've just had the engine out it should be fairly straight forward as to where they go. Are the cable not marked up in any way as mine has loads of little yellow tags on it saying where they go to? My engine is coming back out any day now and i haven't split to loom anywhere around the big fuse, this may be because mine had been moved to up on the bulk head.

The previous owner had been tinkering with it, I suspect I'm missing a cable which is whats throwing me!

There are a couple of links to workshop manual in the equivalent parts thread and they have complete wiring diagrams in them.

They may be of help to you.

Even better if you can print them A3 (or bigger).

Battery to starter
Starter linked to fuse holder
Fuse holder linked to Alternator

If you wire the battery to the fuse holder then the battery it'll blow the fuse straight away.
