'Seeing' a leaking slave

It takes about a year for the fluid in my clutch master to drop to zero. I feel the pedal start to go soft, top up the cylinder and it is OK again. There is rubber in the fluid so a seal and cylinder is leaking somethere. However, the pedal shaft is dry and I can't see any leak from the bell housing.

It has been like this for three years.

Is there anyway I can get and endscope into the bell housing to look at the slave cylinder?

Removing the starter motor should do it.

I'd be more inclined to say that was a master cylinder problem not slave. Unless I've read it wrong, it is 2.15 after all.

Doin' the same job at the moment Jon. I would have thought that if it takes a year to empty the revervoir then it would be almost impossible to view a leak of that slow rate

I didn't realise, at he time, that the fine oil presence on the sump was, in fact, the giveaway sign that my slave was sh*gg*d (Or was that a cheese-inspired dream I had) but then again, I'm stoopid !

If I were you, I'd rip it out and put in a new seal kit.
Oh, wait a minute, I am you, and I am doing just that now.
