With Hagerty no longer insuring Cerbs, I was wondering what the next best company would be?
Last years quote with Hags was the best yet, at 300 and something.

Whats your feeling?

I have always found Mannings to be the most competitive for me. Very knowledgeable about TVRs and pleasant to deal with.

ClassicLine
MSM
Mannings
A Flux

All were within £50 for me when I asked for a quote.

Thankfully my insurance doesn't run out with Hagerty until September.

I believe that the OP was asking for people to reccomend decent insurance companys?
I'm only saying they were all within a spit of each other.

Couldn't possibly comment on their service.

Adrian Flux!

Except: The other day I rang to ask about putting my girlfriend on the Cerb ins as a named driver.

Age 30, no points, convictions etc, has her own car.

It would have doubled the premium! Because, they claim, she has only had a UK full licence for 2 years - even though she's had an Irish full licence (which is an EU equivalent) for 13 years.

Tosh.

It reinforces one of my mottos: Never, ever, tell an insurance company the truth!

I dont get this "not insuring cerbs anymore thing". I recently re-insured my cerb with them and they could'nt have been more helpfull. Is it that you are useing it daily or you did'nt want limited mileage? Maybe they re-insured me again because i insure my Aston on the same policy.

I'm in the same boat! Hagerty have just written to say that they won't be quoting this year. I've done some shopping around and so far Classicline insurance are coming out on top with £313.00 for 3K miles £250 excess and agreed valuation. Has anyone had any dealings with Classicline? Reply off list if necessary.

For a laugh I tried the comparison sites last night. The AA came in with a quote of £2450.00 although I did get another one that was around the £500.00 mark.

Real shame about Hagerty, I though that their customer service was top notch albeit that I've never had to make a claim. I guess anyone would be nice if they were taking money smile

It is a shame, I guess there must have been something that caused the move away though, maybe too many Cerb claims compared to other marques? You certainly see a fair few write offs posted on the forum every year, don't need many of those to screw up the business model...one written off car at £15k needs 40+ £350 policies, and that's without wages overheads etc..

If you want trackday cover as part of the policy try Chaucer (underwriter)
through Jelf (broker).
I have the Cerb, a Lotus and an MR2 all covered for trackdays (a limited number) with them .

It's not just Cerbs they won't insure, Hagerty won't insure any TVR manufactured after 1980.
