Window speed.

Anyone had this problem of very slow winding up and down, they work as they should but so very slow.

Any easy fixes.

I find leaning on them on the way down and pulling them on the way up speeds things up.





Seriously though, I've wondered this too, maybe something just needs greasing up?

Silicon lubricant in the guides inside the doors sorted my ones out!

thinking about getting mine rewired - it looks such terrible cabling - maybe a relay to get a bit more juice.

take a few hands and arms off in the process!

Another reason for slow windows is poor connection in the window control box in the boot. (the big one) Disconnect the plugs blow out the crap thats in there but be careful.. when I did that to mine I got a face full of powder. After sorting out my temporary blindness the windows worked a treat!!

Just one of the many causes for slow running windows.

Replacing the rubber/felt liner in the window channels inside the door can make a big difference. I think I got mine from Clever Trevor or Woolies Trim. The old stuff prises out of the channel and the new presses in.

Also go over the rubber door seal with Gummi Pflege Stift - brilliant stuff!

The windows slow down because the galss is effectively rubbing up against rubber when the felt wears off.
Silicone stuff in the runners is a very short term fix and not worth the bother.

Quick question:

Is it just me or do the windows not go all of the way down? Mine stop maybe 25-30mm proud proud from being fully flush with the door.

Just a quick update:

I've had a slow driver's window since I bought the car. Tried the Pflege stuff earlier in the year and it made minimal difference. I had intermittent problems with my external door button, figured to be the shoddy wiring/connector in the door so recently got Austec to rewire. Not only does the door open but I now have a full speed zoomy driver's window

Wondering if poor wiring/low voltage could be the cause of some of your slow windows?

I think poor wiring/low voltage is the cause of many things lol I'm actually scared to turn the stereo up!

My interior lights flicker (changed to LEDs and the effect is more pronounced)

I have a voltmeter wired in, and at times even whilst driving it only reads 11.8v! its wired to the stereo ISO block so gives an indication of how inadequate the wiring is imo.
