My speedo has stopped working on my cerb.
It tempting not to get it fixed as my girlfriend can't complain about my speed
as she doesn't know how fast I'm going and my milage isn't increasing.
However, I guess I should fix it and looking at this site its suggested the problem
is the distance "between sensor and the toothed wheel".
Could anyone help with where the sensor and the tooth wheel is and how easy it is to fix ?

Could you tell me how accessible the sensor is ?
I'm not very mechanical but I can operate a spanner and screwdriver.
Easy enough to get at.I'm not very mechanical but I can operate a spanner and screwdriver.
Lie on your back and stick your head under the back of the car.
Look up and you'll see the sensor.
It's mounted on a bracket and "reads" off the toothed wheel which spins when the back wheels are turning.
You'll need to loosen the lock-nut with a pipe pliers (or with similar that fits) and you should be able to turn the sensor by hand.
It needs to be very close to, but not touching, the toothed wheel.
Use a piece of paper between the sensor and toothed wheel to make sure there is a small gap (it should not be gripped tight but should be able to drag without tearing).
Unplug the jack-plug on the sensor cable before you turn it to avoid twisting the cable too much.
Make sure to tighten the lock-nut and plug back in the jack plug when you are finished.
If you have goggles you should wear them to stop dust and dirt dropping into your eyes.
Hopefully this all makes sense and is some bit helpful to you.
