Rattle and squeak...undertray?

Hey guys,

Driving home yesterday I could hear a rattle and squeak from under the car over bumpy roads, with the rattle continuing at traffic lights etc. Sounded like the undertray to me but is there anything else I should check if it's not?

There are two metal straps welded between the exhaust pipes between the cats and the back box.

One of these has most likely cracked at one side and rattles of the exhaust.

It's easy enough to check it if you can get under the car.

If it turns out to be the problem it's a pain in the backside to fix as you'll have to take the exhaust off the car.

Or you could try and weld it in situ, forget to disconnect the battery and melt most of the fusebox. Not that I did that, no siree.

Check that the exhaust itself hasn't shifted, as this can rattle against the chassis if it has...

Last rattle I had from underneath the car turned out to be a loose lambda sensor.

Cheers for the replies guys! I've tried having a look underneath, the exhausts seem pretty solid though I couldn't get far enough underneath to see the brace which may have snapped. Doesn't seem to be the undertray either. It only seems to happen once the car has warmed up, maybe that could give some clues to what it may be?! Thanks! Dom

I hope not! Clutch was done fairly recently, plus this is a pretty loud rattle, and the squeak makes it sound like something loose, only squeaks when I go over a bump!
