snapped driveshaft at santa pod

Santa pod on saturday at USC and on my first run I changed into second and bang .
No drive got towed to the end (not as fast as I would have like to cross the line lol)
Looked on parts sites and don't knowif the raceproven uprated are any better
They state for track and hard road use
Anybody with any thoughts

It's a known weak part and if you're planning on launching hard again in the future it may well be worth the uprated items.

1/4 mile work is VERY stressful on drive-train due to the huge levels of grip offered.

Hi,

Warren at Topcats can provide you with ones that will handle the power. They are barrel ones like the barrel in a gun. The shaft flexes due to the slots inside the shaft which stops it from breaking. They run them on their LS7 powered race cars.

Mate that I went with pulled into santa pod and his car died
(330ci bm) so I used my aa card and the guy took of altanator an when off to get a new one
It the mean time I when for a tow up the strip
So my mates brother rang the rac to get my car recover
But the t**t rac man had a pic of my on the strip and said
We don't do motorsport and wanted to charge me £350 to trailer the car home
In the end phone my aa cover back up and they go a lorry to send it to essex where it
Was swopped onto another lorry back to portsmouth
Saw 3 aa guys in one day and all of them were TOP BLOKES
Not like the rac t**sers
Glad I'm with the AA

Yep, never had a problem with the AA, rang them when gearbox went and just instructed them to get a low loader thing down, they did and took me home, no grumbling at all, no "oh we'll get the patrol out first to check" or any BS. They've helped me a few times with various cars.

The last track day I went on one of the Golfs in the group had a clutch go and needed to be towed, RAC turned up and said the same thing can't take you home you've been racing point blank refused to take him.

The AA on the other hand won't recover you from the track (which is fair enough) however they will pick you up from the paddock.

IIRC, wheels span up, then just as I grabbed second the surface seemed to change/get very sticky, loads of grip and BANG, although I did somehow manage to make it to the end under my own steam...about 2 minutes

Best time for a standardish Cerb (remap and short induction) is mid/high 11s from memory

Mid to low 12's are good times. Dipping into the 11's are real quick.
Brummmies LS is just ridiculous....
