.............................................................................does your clutch last???
Just enquiring as to the average mileage that people get out of their clutch.My first one went at 20k miles,I had the plates relined by a chap who built clutches at AP (now retired) and I did 15k on these and these started slipping on the way back from Le-Mans.Just fitted a brand new AP clutch & i`m hoping it lasts a bit longer!!!

It depends how you drive it, if your not too mad with it 30-40k has been known.

Totally dependant on Pilot and journeys.

Drive it to work in the centre of town and have st clutch control and go to the Pod regular, 10K if you're lucky.

Average trips on M-way, towns and country roads and someone who can control a clutch 20K

Only go out on runs, heal and toe, pull away at low revs and allow clutch to fully engage before increasing load and don't sit holding the clutch at traffic lights 30k plus.

speaking of clutches.. in general what are cerb v8 clutches like.. do they tend to be quite heavy?
the cerb speed6 i saw recently had v light clutch action compared to chimaera.
is this normal?

55k and just replaced the cars clutch which is the first one according to its records.

Sixes and Eights all use the same clutch. Mine has just been replaced and is very light considering what it has to put up with.

My clutch lasted until 43k. It was the cars only clutch and it has had five previous owners.

Currently on 43K on the original clutch on a 97 car. I'm the third owner

Well if i get more than 20k out of the new one I will be happy.With reference to the post above,the new clutch is quite light(standard AP Racing clutch) & i`m well pleased with it,its took all the `notchiness` out of the gear changes.

Mine only lasted 20k aswell for the clutch...aswell as the engine before it needed rebuilding!!!
It just depends how lucky you are.
Oh just remembered my starter motor only lasted a year after it was rebuilt!
You need the patience of a saint & deep pockets with tvrs, shame i have neither...but i still love them to bits!

36K and just replaced the seals. Still 'feels' good.

My car is coming up to 60k now and the engine has just been out and the clutch is in good nick, this is the second clutch in that milage and still going strong.

Mine was replaced at 37K by last owner so hopefully many years to come with no replacement for me

8k so far and that's pretty much full power when possible and 8 runs at pod...
