Cerbera racers...

Seems a bit quiet lately, so lets get some ideas going/ take a proper look at the Cerbera.

There are a fair few body-offs, a couple of racers and a few reasonably heavily upgraded cars covered on here - so, to those who have been playing about with things; Where is the weight/ are there any parts that are laughably heavy or unnecessary that you've discovered?

My best source of losing weight seems to be letting the pistons out if the engine!! The car is very light with an empty bonnet! Lol.

Mine was at 997kg last time it was wieghed.

ACT exhaust manifolds and exhaust system is approx 10kg lighter than the standard.
SP wheels are said to be lighter but I can't remember by how much.
The front seats weigh a lot.
The redtop battery I've just put in was 17kg

Working on it, although I am willing to bet I am lighter than 95% of PH'ers.

Dad is also working on it, though he too doesnt actually weight much.

Ok I have a spare few minutes so here's a list. Hope I'm not giving away my secrets! I will start with heavier items first.

Seats
wheels mine wiegh 7kg
get rid if the complete wiring loom. This is one of the heavyist items
rear handbrake system and large rear brake discs
all inner wings and all that fiberglass in the engine bay
air con system can go including the large boxes and matrix
heater system can go, all blowers tanks pipework rads etc
rear seat belt frame work
the tub can be cut down inside the car taking out all the seat mouldings
doors can be cut so they are only a skin
all window and looking mechanisms
all glass replaced
remove bonnet and boot bracketry and all mechanisms including fixings
bonnet, door skins, boot can all way loads less
cut out all the fibreglass structure in the boot area
steering mechanism can be replaced with simple shaft and light wheel
all instruments removed, replace with race dash
all insulation, leather, plastics: just leave bare fibreglass
wing mirrors can be replaced
trim
dash (including the heavy fiberglass shaping)
All light removed that are not needed
Remove the heavy rad fans
Remove large wiper motor and get small single unit for driver side
Replace battery with race unit
Remove power steering system including pump, replace with small electrical unit

That's all I can think of at the moment. Sure the is more!! Excuse my typing spelling etc, doing this on an iPhone!

Not easily. To fit a hans compatible seat and to help with lowering the COG we cut the floor and transmition tunnel out and lowered the seat and positioned it towards the centre.
