Ice warning light?

Why has my ice warning light turned into a mobile disco?
It has been on constantly since before Xmas (was told it is a duff sensor or wire) and today it was flashing red green and orange randomly is there a reason or is the sensor just broke even more?

The lead to the thermistor in front of the radiator had finally corroded to the point that it is almost rotted through and is giving variable resistance. It will stop soon when it falls apart completely and just stay on red.

Mine gave up at the end of last year and because I am a tight git and begrudge paying £20 for a 3p thermistor I haven't got round to replacing it. If anyone knows what value thermistor is needed I would be most gratefull.

Thanks, thought as much but thought I'd ask just in case will probably leave it till the next service, it'll liven the dash up at night aswell.
