HELP ANY IDEAS

Started and warmed up car drove 3mile to garage,while filling up noticed steam coming from under bonnet by the water bottle.Looked under car water on floor.So drove home temp norm 80c.When i arrived home no steam no water.I then went for a 20 mile run everything ok.Idid top up water yesterday could i have over filled.Thanks anybody got any ideas.

My guess is an air lock...over filled...heated up...air lock rises to the top pushes excess water out ...hence steam....no probs.....just keep an eye on water level. this seems to be a regular query here!

I'm sure Paddy is right.

Had the same thing happen a couple of weeks back.

I think the airlocks can sit and hide for a while as mine hadn't needed a
top up since I got her six weeks previously.

Been fine since and done many more miles.

I think a few people are meeting up near bicester/aylesbury on sunday. But that could be next weekend? It's should be in the events forum.
