Alarm goes off when opening

Hi everyone,
search function not working right now, so excuse this question that we probably already had here before.
When I tried to collect my car this morning at 7:30am from the garage and unlocked it with the remote the siren went off. I closed it again with the remote (alarm went out) waited a couple of seconds and tried again. It went off again. Since I didn't want to bring up my neighbours against me :-) I decided to spend my Sunday with my other car.

I want to go to the garage again now to see if it still does it. In case it does... what are your suggestions? Will it stop when I disarm the immobilizer and start the car? Or how can I turn the alarm off other than locking the car again (I wanna drive!)?

I went to have another try... alarm still goes off when I unlock the car.
I got inside, disarmed immobiliser, turned on ignition, started the car... alarm still blasting my ears off!
I locked again using the remote, alarm went out.

I tried one more thing. Unlocked the car again with remote (alarm went off), opened the door and pressed remote key again. Alarm went out. At least I could now get in my car (I thought) but as I tried the interior sensors detected me and made the hazard lights to start flashing (no alarm). Think they flashed 6 or 7 times and then stopped again. I pressed the remote key again and then the alarm went off. I closed the door from outside, pressed remote again and alarm went out.

Maybe I should have just continued with the starting procedure after those hazard lights stopped flashing?

I stopped trying more stuff because the neighborhood began to gather on the street to see which idiot was attempting to steal this strange car :-).

Anyone got a clue what the problem is and what I should try next?

I have had similar problems with my alarm,simple thing to try is disconnect your battery and leave it for 1/2 an hour then reconnect,hopefully the alarm/immoboliser sequence will sort itself out.

thanks for your reply.

How would you propose me to do that? Open car with remote (alarm will go off), open door so I can access bonnet opener, make alarm shut up by pressing key again. I will then be able to open the bonnet, dismantle the panel, disconnect battery etc.

When re-connecting the battery, how should I have the car "set up" to reboot itself? Doors all closed or open? Ideally car locked or opened?

When disconnecting the battery, will the alarm not go off with me being unable to stop it because the system will not react anymore to me pressing the remote key?

I would just try this all out (using earplugs) but the car is situated in this silent neighborhood so anything that can avoid the alarm to sound for minutes is highly appreciated :-)

Had the same some time ago, replaced the battery of the keyfob and it works again.

Don't know about opened or closed doors, but it just works again.

There is a sequence, which I can't for the life of me remember to re-synchronise the fob and alarm, which may help.

I think it is something like holding the fob down for a few seconds, at which point the lights will give a three or four flash confirmation of reset.

that's at least three things I can try now.
Maybe all of them in one go... buy a new battery for the fob and replace the old one, then disconnect the car battery and then hold the fob down for a couple of seconds.

I will also consult Carl Baker tomorrow... maybe he knows something about it as well. My fobs are knackered anyway so need a replacement.

Please keep more suggestions coming nevertheless!
