Picked up my gorgeous Rosso Red 4.2 from Philip Phedonos this morning. Such a nice guy to deal with, he spent a long time showing me over the car and things to look out for etc, highly reccomended to anyone who is looking to source a TVR.

Got a couple bits to sort like the interior that needs a good clean up, aircon system needs fixing (never realised how much needed that was going to be!).

Can't wait to get to some meets and talk to some of you nutters in the flesh!

Be careful with car covers, they can scratch the surface (has to be clean before applied) and they can encourage blistering. My Cerbera has lived outside in all weathers for 10 years and has not ever had any issues but on my last car I bought a cover and I had trouble straight away.

Another question I had, does everyone have a 'magnified' drivers side mirror? If not, where can I get a normal glass insert from? I'm not a fan of the narrow field of vision you get from the magnified type ones.

I got mine from the VW/Audi dealers but one place was dearer than the other and they were both with 10 miles of each other. The glass is a VW Corrado.

Car covers can cause more problems than they prevent.

Have a word with your local RO about emergency entrance, it will be working because it's mechanical but please don't ask and possibly reviel on here.

welcome to the mad house you will never be the same,
two things i must tell you,

1, if you are looking in the mirror you are stopped or doing your hair so why bother looking.
no one drives a cerb and looks in the mirror (you can hear the plod)

2, i have a car cover by the comp you listed mine is a storm cover ,it leaks there only good for two years and cant be re waterproofed ,so they say!!!

its a tvr cerbera you will never look back.

OH yes and only the best colour there is !!!
pull the top of the foot plate/carprt thingy down&out in passenger footwell there you will find the MBE ecu take off the top(four crosshead screws) and its in the middle of the PCB

I can't comment on the other car covers, but I'd be wary of cheap ones.
These are about the best car covers - If they can stand a winter 40 miles north of Aberdeen, they'll work anywhere!

Can't agree on the colour guys !!!!!! Blue or silver for me! Mines blue!

But it looks great anyway.......it's still a Cerb!

We used to have the same issues and comments about car covers when I used to own a Scimitar. I guess it may be partly a fibreglass. I gather the paintwork used to 'bloom'. Whether it was due to constant flapping of the cover or not I'm not sure.

Welcome to the club, by the way. I've only owned mine for just over a week so I'm in the same situation.

Yes,its the car Rob inspected and yes its my first TVR!

Found the ECU, so thanks for that, but also found some wet carpet Is this common after some heavy rain? I'm used so some water ingress with frameless doors but hopefully its quite a common issue with an easy fix?!

Thanks for the details on the car covers, I'll look into them.. also need to source a CTEK, although its been sat since Sat and started on the button a few hours ago, so the battery can't be in too bad condition

As for the colour, I wanted a black one but glad I didn't, Rosso red is absolutely gorgeous in the flesh! almost too eye catching!!
