Who got the Ebay car??????

Now that the auction has finished is the new owner of the red Ebay 4.5 perpared to tell us a bit about his purchase. I'm really curious to know whether you got a bargain (as I suspect you may have)!!

Doesnt look like a bargain to me....
Probably needs some work to bring it to mint condition. Would easily eat £8K for paint and a few bits n pieces. You could get one already sorted for less.

Sure, but if you only want a reasonable one and are happy to do a few bit, it's a cheap 4.5...

It may be a good starting point. A lot of the jobs may be able to be done over time.

That's half what I paid for mine, although mine is in good nick. It just depends what starting point the £8100 gives the buyer.

I think it would depend on the chassis as to whether that is a bargain or not.

True. The thing is with Ebay cars, that if they are any distance away then it may be difficult to get to view before bidding. With a car like that it would only be sensible to view it first. That means that there may be less competition. Although there seemed to be quite a few bids. I wonder if they all viewed it??!!

I thought it was the one that needed plenty of work eg respray and hadnt had much spent on it for a while.

To be fair £8100 for a '98 4.5 with a years ticket is good going really. Use, sort a few things like the rear lights etc (don't work on a red car) and you could easily sell for the same in a years time I reckon.

Considering breakers are trying to flog cat Ds for the best part of £7k.

If you are prepared to put the man-hours in yourself and leave the difficult jobs to a specialist then you can get a bargain out there....

Mine is fantastic now - my jobs list was about 30 or so items after I did a proper inspection!

I have list down to 3 now - so it can be done!
