Washed the car after the extended run today and gutted to find a big chip
in the new paint work already, size of a thumb nail too!
Thankfully Ewelme gave me some touch up paint which might hide it a little, but that area seems fated for damage on this car, twice in two months.
Had to go for another blast to consol myself!

Sorry to hear about that, Graham.
Not sure if they've just given you some paint, or paint + lacquer. From experience, on a chip that size, I'd suggest painting it up in layers over a few hours/days, then lacquering it until it's at a higher lever than the surrounding area. Finally buffing this down to match everything around it. Takes longer, but will hopefully blend in better. If they've not given you a little pot of lacquer, I'd suggest getting some.

Sound advice.
I'll check with Ewelme if it's just the paint, think possibly it is.
Might ask my wife or daughter to do the repair.....
I'll tell them it's practise for their nail painting!
If you've only got one pot, it's just the paint! If it's a long trip to any specialist for you, just pop into Halfwits and pick up the lacquer part of their paint touch-up kit if necessary. Should be much less than a fiver.
When doing mine, I had a mate's better half complaining at me, saying that's not how you do nails.
Although it is a hard thing to do I try to accept the fact and leave the chips where they are. A bodged touch up will be more annoying to you.
The front of my cerbera is pretty bad, I don't really care, I'll have the nose done properly if and when I sell it, in the meantime it looks pretty road warrior
As long as the mechanicals are in tip top then I'm happy.
Remember it is only a car, and face it a little less blue paint will make your car much faster :P

I do have other areas (wing mirrors etc) that have chip marks, but this chip is rather large and deep.

I was very worried about messing it up at first, so started out practicing on a few of the chips under the nose of the car where they wouldn't be visible. After a while, I noticed that even the ones that hadn't been done perfectly looked far better than the little white speckles all over the car! I guess it's maybe not so bad on a lighter colour, but on a dark blue the chips weren't nice.
If you really don't want to do it yourself, the usual car-touch up places will have had lots of experience, and you can supply the right colour paint to begin with. For a little job like that, I'd expect about a £40 charge (hence why I'd have a go myself, then take it to them if I messed it up)
