Laptops

Been looking through the threads and seen a lot of mentions of "plug in the laptop" for various things.

Is there anyone out there that can supply the software or is it a dealer only type thing.

Only asking due to the recent purchase of a 99 4.5 and wouldnt mind having access to bits and bobs if/when they go wrong.
