Friday lunch and I would like to compare the size of mine to the size of yours

On another thread I made a comment about being hit my a large bill for service/clutch/brakes etc. This stung me for £3,700. A response came that I would have to go some to beat some of the bills that some of you guys have been hit with.

What are they then. Let's exclude upgrades and mods - as that is just showing off - lets talk maintenance - popped engines/gearbox rebuilds - you know the kind of thing.

Biggest bill has been a couple of hundred quid for the CV bushes doing. Guess I lose...

See my post from a couple of days ago (or my profile) for the "mine's bigger than yours" grand total, though.

Think the most I know of is from accident damage - £20k figures for chassis work, etc.

Just checked my profile as I hit one year of ownership, and have racked up £5,700 in servicing and repairs!!

With insurance and fuel, that's over £8,000 - for less than 4,000 miles...

glad I'm not an accountant

cheers

I know of one with engine related work at about 5.5k, but the work Stas is having done due
to the vandals in about 20k if I recall?

Me? A mere whipper snapper bill of 3k.

I spent over 12K in one year and 2000miles.

9k on engine rebuild (done twice, second time on warranty)
1K on on cats
600+ on service, engine failed 100 miles later.
Over 1.5K on bits and pieces HT leads (2 sets), Dim/Dip control, heater control panel, exhaust repair, alternater repair etc etc.

1200 of the 2000 miles were running the car in!

I recently sold the car, would I buy another TVR, yeah probably, great cars when running!

Howabout mine, I reckon about 45k, in that I got collared by the Mrs one evening, when intended to do some work on the car, instead was summoned , and we had our first child last sunday as a result.

I read somewhere that the ave cost of a child these days is about 45k!!!

I'm now locked in the garage with the Griff....it seems to get expensive if I emerge out these days!!

Congrats!! But 45k, you are having a laugh thats the first couple of years. More like 245k!

However they are the only thing in the world to give you a bigger smile than a TVR.
