Crank advice on AJP

Hey guys,

Coming from an S3c, then a V8s I'm now looking at Cerbs and doing some research. Would someone be kind enough to let me know when TVR revised the crankshaft configuration on the 4.2, I want to be sure I concentrate on these later cars no matter how uncommon the issue with the "old" crank may be.

I had the same worries a while ago, apparently the early ajp`s with 2 sump plugs on the sump were supposedly the engines with the badly cast cranks, but I don`t know what year this was done.

98 and on is the later 4.2 crank casting.

has anyone got any facts on this ie. how many cerbs sold before 98 and how many cranks have snapped?

At least 10 have snapped.

so as unfortunate as it is for those who have had a failure its not as widespread as i imagened
(maybe im just willing it not to happen to me), would be nice to know how many cars were sold up untill they changed the castings though

i would of liked to of thought that if it was going to happen to an earler car it would of already happened by know!!!
