Tyres - Toyo R1Rs: Anyone tried them?

As title, really.
I previously rejected the idea of going onto 888s full-time, as I do use the car all year round, and standing water up here in Scotland is a very real likelihood most months of the year.
R1Rs look to be a enough of a road compromise to be worth considering, but they are pretty much twice the price of the equivelant T1Rs that I've been very happy with for the last couple of years.
Oh, and while I'm talking tyres, can someone with Spiders confirm that it's OK to go up to 225/40 instead of 225/35 on the fronts.
