Hint: Anyone stuck with the Search engine

Dear Peeps,

There have been a load of threads recently starting with the problems encountered trying to use the PB Search engine.

Thanks to the ingenious brain of Snoogledog, here is the method to Search.

Put your search string in double quotes and follow with the Forum number you are interested in (Cerbera is 6). As in .....

Awesome! I have to keep typing in "cerbera" + xxxx and it doesn't always come up with many threads as not everyone mentions they have a cerbera when already posting on a cerb forum!

Spanner in the works unfortunately as the f=6 isn't always in the URL! I found that last night when I was trying to find topics on gearbox oil and found that part of the URL was missing!

It's pathetic - the search engine has been down for how long ? - months at least. Absolute shambles in respect of one of the genuinely useful PH features.

It's probably me but I don't understand your problem.

Found both of the examples you gave using the appropriate search string and the formula indicated.

well, it's true, everyone has their own personal standards

BUT

I think it's a phenomonal service for the price you're paying...

but that's just MY personal opinion.

I understand that there are a couple of hidden forums like the '100 Club' and the 'mods swingers forum' (avoid TVR Chimaera keys ) but I cant see any of the above either...
