Yes it's true I am lower than pondlife, scum and not worthy but a full confession is due. Yesterday was one of the darkest days in my 7 or so years of cerb ownership...why?... because it was a lovely sunny day here in north devon and having an errand to run I opted to leave the Cerb at home and take the new addition out for a spin.
Not in my wildest imagination could i have believed so much enjoyment could be achieved between a man and something that is not a Cerb, something without the raw power, aggression, and all else that fuels the adrenaline released when pressing the cerbs loud pedal.
Not once did i give a consideration for my loyal and trusting friend who was left abandoned in my car park whilst wafting through the country lanes whilst playing ACDC at albeit 'chav' levels of volume, nor did I give the slightest concern whilst listening to the supercharger whine when accelerating on the dual carriageways and not once did I compare the performance or subsequent lack of.
some say it's a 'jag in drag', entry level economics, others 'it's just a ford'...i say 'whatever, it's mine and it's pretty as feck!
boys, my Aston itch has finaly been scratched and hell it does have a kind of feeling of sophistication and an air of grace about it.
and did i mention it's pretty too

Can fully understand where you're coming from, sometimes these urges have to be satisfied. I'm in the process of getting my bike licence as I MUST have a Ducati. :-)
So, how does the '7' feel? I've often thought about one myself as they become more affordable.

Thanks for the kind words of understanding fellas, but i did honestly feel a shlt when pulling into the pub car park.

Tim, it was a strange feeling, hard to explain but i'll try. it's not dissimilar to the XJR in that it is quite sedate and planted, not a whafty barge but tight. lazy at low speeds but when pushed it picks up very well and pulls like a train. but that said you/i dont realy want to drive it that way, was more than happy pressing on without spanking the pants off it (aka cerb) and unlike the cerb where you feel part of the machine feeling every bump and picking apex and exit with precision you go with it in a more gentle manner. like the cerb even grabbing a packet of cigs and enjoying an hour or so the long way home is still an occasion, but this is quite different....dare i say it almost grown up

You're not alone. I left the cerb in the bat cave yesterday and had a great hood down drive in the DB7 vantage. Just as well as someone in a quick Audi came blasting past, and i just know if i had been in the cerb it would have been a red rag to a bull and ended in a row with swmbo. In the Aston i dont give a rats arse who goes past. Very different cars and i love driving both, but the cerb is a very deep love. Puting the cerb away for winter hibernation under it's cover in it's de-humidified garage. Went to an Aston meet and was suprised at how many there had or still own TVR's.
Must admit I am feeling the need for a new car.... But what else is there!!! I want one car rather than twocard, I want noise, speed and so forth. Want 4 seats. Db9 is prob not everyday car, maybe the newer maserati coupe, not sure about 911s, m3 image hmmm, rs4 just not sure, maybe a late v10 m5....

Maserati Quattroporte?Parting with the cerb has and never will be an option, I just couldn't, but it is nice to drive to say, France or go back up north without the paranoia and cartoons that come with every change of engine note or rattle.
Every journey in the cerb is an event and i never seem tired after a long journey, but the Aston and even the old XJS do give you a completely different experience which is most enjoyable but in a different way.
