Never seen a Cerb done, but have seen a few Tuscans. It's a great idea, but the thing that puts me off, is you do get a visible line where the film finishes, and I can just see polish/wax building up on the seam & making it even more pronounced !

Same here, I was looking at a Tuscan at Donington and wondering how it would look.

Thanks for the price info KJ69.

I think it would work where there is to be no 'butting up' of two sections. In which case you wouldn't see the join lines. e.g. Mirrors or windscreen pillars.

Mirrors look ok, it's the bonnet & wings that only get the 1st 30cm's(ish) covered, so you still get the line...

Had my first Elise done - didn't get it done on any subsequent cars!!

Good in certain small areas such as mirrors, but I found it makes the car ever so dull, is very expensive and had several 'your cars been keyed' comments from colleagues/friends re the edge of the armourfend.

Cheers for that. I've got that but couldn't get it up. That goes with the above. Thanks again.

I have armourfend on mine. Cerb's Smoked Titanium i.e. dark grey. Yes you can see the line after polishing - I guess that it is potentially more pronounced on a darker Cerb. however, nothing to cause concern at all. On something like Crystal Topaz you might not be able to notice it all (anyone ?)

I run a polishing cloth over the back of my nail to catch any build-up at the edges of the armourfend. You definitely cannot see any line whilst the car is moving.

You could argue that you only see stone chips up close - at the same time you only would see the armourfend line up close ... so what's the difference ? For me it's a question of what's more important - Potential re-spray, or a little more time after polishing ...

Compare it to protecting the Cerb under a car cover when parked outside ... Isn't that the same thing ? i.e. just wanting to look after "it" a little bit more .... ?

Armourfend was on the car when I bought it. However, would definitely make a point of taking this option in the future.

Cerb's are simply beautiful cars - I don't believe that armourfend film does anything to detract !

You can probably give the side skirts and the inners of the wheel arches a miss anyway. And if you have the carbon fibre A-pillars, no need to armorfend them.

My yellow ones been done - yes you can see the lines once you're stood within a few feet but the front end of my car still looks immaculate - not like a lot of other stone-chipped cerbies

I think the result you get depends on the colour of the car. I've seen it on a dark metallic purple and the first 30cm of the bonnet looked dull and flat compare to the rest. You could also see the line across the bonnet very easily. probably wouldn't be that noticeable on lighter coloured cars.

I'll put up with the stone chips and if they get really bad then cough up for a front end respray.

I wonder how many cerbs have been done because I looked at a lot before I bought mine and only ever saw one that had been done.

Personally I wouldn't do it. I prefer to spend money on repair/respray if and when needed. You can go a long way in the mean time with touch up paint on any stone chips.
