Cerbera Door Problems

Hi all.
Just a quick post about door problems i'm having with my Cerb, if anyone can shed any light.
Background info:
Just picked it up from the garage having had two entirely separate electrical problems... not linked as they occurred at totally different times.
Starter motor was problem 1... I have 12V all the way around the car to the relay in the drivers footwell which was clicking every time i try to start the car. Garage removed starter motor and pinged it off to a specialist to see if they could replace to starter solenoid which could not be salvaged... apparently. I have a second hand starter in now until the garage can source a new one and everything is fine.
The other problem was that the drivers side door window would not open or close whilst the door was closed. meaning i could not open or close the window whilst driving or the window would not close after i parked up and left the car. Turns out after much testing of points, checking of connections and fuses / control boxes etc was that the small cable running through the car, through the door hinge and into the door itself was caught, earthing itself on something and just needed moving. (Took my half an hour to find this problem, took the garage three weeks and they still didn't repair it correctly)
Anyways, after the starter motor visit to the garage, a complaint about the previous shoddy work I have the car back and this is what happened:
A big, very big, life threatening, brown trousers time problem that i had whilst driving it back was that the drivers side door inadvertently opened, by itself, on several occasions whilst driving home. No explanation, no warning... luckily the roads weren't busy or i would've been missing a door. Also when i got back the bugger wouldn't close, i.e the door release was jammed open, however there was no solenoid clicking.

Hi - look up starter motors in the search here. Are you using a TVR indie?
As for the door opening - might it be related to the work you did re the window issue? Again just get it to a specialist?
Nope, specialist, although i'm beginning to doubt.
Depending on how this all works out I may be posting a warning up on the forums to avoid the place. However i'm going to keep zipped now for obvious reasons... specialists are hard to come by down this way so I'll give them the benefit of doubt for the minute

Sounds like your door catch got stuck. Check the screws that hold it into the body, if they are loose that can cause a problem. If not you need to remove and adjust the catch.
To be honest I don't see how you can blame the specialist for this, unless you suspect that they have deliberately sabotaged your car. Naming and shaming on here is likely to get the thread removed by the moderators so I wouldn't bother.

tbh this is at some level the life of owning a TVR, they have niggles that even experts can struggle to resolve. You say 'specialist', is this a TVR specialist (ie a TVR indie). Dulford and Peninsula are near to you.
It's a fair bet that the OP is referring to one or the other. My guess (and experience) is that he's got the problem with the one nearest to him.
OP - the door thing will be poor solenoid adjustment behind the panel behind the door. Fiddly, but easily fixed.
