As above, where does it hide? Thought it was about time that I changed it, seeing that I broke it in Spa.

Might even clean the car, again something else not done since Spa

Its in the 'V' at the back of the engine, just underneath the rearmost coil pack.

It took me a year to get round to mine, only did it when it started leaking large amounts of oil.

Also took me a good 6 months to get round to changing the relief valve spring which I did yesterday, now have 70PSI at cold idle and 60 hot running 10 more across the range than before smile

Well what a disaster that was...

After several hours the only thing I accomplished was getting dirty.

Tried getting to the OPS from above, so took off the induction, fuel rail. Tried taking the coil packs off but couldn't undo the allen bolts. I presume that they fasten into the plate that they sit on and that the plate is threaded. It would seem that either all of the threads are gone or that they are nut & bolts and I can't get to the nuts... Same story with the big fuse, holder & mounting plate.

Can you get to the OPS from below the car?

Looks as though I will have to, at some point, drill out the dodgy bolts, drill, tap & put inserts into the brackets & possibly the engine block.

Not to mention, actually changing the OPS

Deep Joy

The coils bolt into rivnuts in the aluminium plate. They tend to work loose and turn as you found. The bolts that hold the plate down go into the cylinder head so if you can get to them you should be able to undo those ones ok. I am afraid there is no way to get at the oil pressure switch from underneath.

If you cant get to the bolts that hold the plate to the engine you may have some success undoing the coil bolts by wedging the coil up with a screwdriver (thereby jamming the spinning rivnut against the plate) as you undo the bolt. If not dremel off the heads and slide the coils off the bolts so you can get to the bolts that hold the plate down.

I was going to reply to this as soon as I saw the thread advising that it is an arse of a job. The rivnuts are not properly fitted when they left the factory and hence a little corrosion and they spin.

Make sure you use a nut and the original cap head to tighten it before refitting and use some copper slip on the threads.

Also, make sure you have a large deep socket for the sensor itself as it is very hard to undo with a spanner if not impossible.

Also make sure you mark up you ignition leads and coil packs well.
