Rear light clusters - how to remove?

Hello
I have got some afterburner style rear light clusters, and want to fit them to see how they look.

Can anyone advise the best way to remove the existing ones - they seem to be bonded in. I don't want to damage the old ones, as I may well want to refit them, or, if at some point I sell the car, be able to return it to its original condition...

You will find they are sikaflexed (black mastic) in position with a couple of self tappers.

IIRC to get a nice seal around your new light you will need to remove the front perspex cover to get at the front of the new light.

Removing the front perspex cover is easy. Use a knife / razor blade to cut around the sikaflex and carefully push out the cover from the rear (where your lamp was)

I need to do this shortly to get at the back of the perspex cover to repaint the black line. Otherwise you will see the gunky mess called Sikaflex!

Not necessarily - mine are part of the fibreglass rear wing moulding and would need to be cut out.

If you have the original Fiesta lights, then they can just be unscrewed from inside. But if you have the later style with 4 separate lights (OK 3 and a reflector)then......

a) Don't be silly - leave them in place.

b) Go down to Macdonalds and sell the Afterburner lights to a Fiesta owner

Mine are the original Fiesta lights and are one piece with the rear wing. I guess TVR changed the way they were mounted over time.

And mine are sikaflexed in + screws!

And there is a nice bead of the stuff on the front of the lens.

Finally got around to fitting the new lights - and now have a (hopefully!) small problem.

When I brake, the headlights come on. I can get round this by driving with the headlights on, however when I stop the car the engine runs on until I turn the headlights off!

Any ideas?

Sorry bud that just sounds so funny,disconnect rear lights and try brake this will tell you if rear wireing is the problem.may have shorted somthing
