Hi all,

Does anyone on here insure multiple vehicles, inc a TVR, on a traders policy? I'm looking for one that approves of TVR's, and i've just bought a 4th car so it's time to get a traders policy haha.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

Yep I do, but our policy is a full motortrade combined policy which covers not just our personal cars but customers vehicles, our premises/contents, public liability etc etc etc. We have used the same broker and insurance company for years and never had a problem. The policy is with Aviva (Norwich Union) highly recommended but not cheap.

I also have the same (I expect) policy with aviva which will cover the TVR but I choose to insure it seperatly for trackday cover and agreed value as the Trade policies only pay out trade values.

I have eight vehicles insured on various policys. I found that most traders policys would not cover outside of working business hours.

I wouldn't bother with a traders policy. For a start if you have a total loss you'll only get trade price.

I have 10 cars on a collectors policy with Hagerty. Policy costs about £1200 pa and icludes a lightweight E type FIA race car worth rather a lot, a 996 GT3, an FIA race Grantura, another Grantura, an FIA race MGB, another MGB, an MGA, a race Spridget, a Land Rover 110 and used to cover a 65 Griffith. Most are limited mileage but the premium is less than I used to pay for the GT3 and 110 alone.

Axa and Aon do similar policies but wouldn't cover the GT3 or 110 as well as the older cars.

No connection etc etc

hi i use tradewise from one sure (part time trader) i have declared the cerb as my own car and have a 20k value on this. It only costs me 1k/year and also have my jaguar and wifes rover on this.

I think its worth it

Looked into traders but didn't think it was worth it in the end.

No no claims and low payout in the event of an issue scared me off enough.

Lucky if you get £8k if you loose it i reckon??
You can declare whatever value you like, but come the crunch...

My dad had two bikes nicked out the garage last year, they wriggled and did not pay out, even though he had declared everything correctly, i changed all my stuff to proper insurance after that, i had had a trade policy for nearly 17years previously.
I am an ex car trader so was a must, but if you have lots tied up and/or want to ensure that you are treated fairly...

well not so sure about that, my premium did increase slighlty to add and extra 5k on the value of the car. And i do earn ncb, hopeffully nothing will go wrong, but if it did i cant see why they wouldnt pay out, as any other insurance is expected to
