i need help,(no not mentaly) before you all start
window wipers wont work.
fitted new wiper box of tricks from clever trever as old one burnt up after water got in
all fuses ok,all relays ok
still wont work
heard about this thingy called a park switch
im a bloody good builder but a sh*t auto spark
who would you use to sort this out in the chelmsford/essex area
if theres a auto spark out there that needs a builder for a day even better

Its really not that hard or expensive to do it mate, i did one on the last cerb in under an hour easy.
Stop sulking and get on with it man!

Need to do the park switch on mine, have done it on the Chimaera so don't suppose it'll be a lot different.

Think it's from a MINI, if my memory serves me well. Get it from any of the usuall suppliers for TVR parts. A previous poster rekons you can replace it with the wiper motor in place but I found it impossible. Need to remove the motor to get at it, then it's easy to do. Mine needed a bit of oomf to get it off of the motor housing.

Yes I replaced it with the motor in place but I probably wouldn't try it again. It took weeks to grow back enough skin to cover both hands properly.

I had to take my motor out to do it, it just clips on .I must be honest i dont use the intermittant i use rain x which keeps the screen clear upto illegal speeds .

Yes, normally I would agree but in the case of this part I found I could only get it a £ or so cheaper than the TVR suppliers (£9.15)and as I was ordering other bits it was easier to pay the extra dosh.

You can see why they fail so often as they look like they are made from something out of Blue Peter, on a bad day!

I have also orderd the board with the brushes to rebuild mine.

I found taking out the header tank and bracket made the motor easier to access.

The parts turned up this morning, motor put back together, greased up, and it only bloody well works.



That saved £200.

if it was the park switch that would have no effect on the window squerters as they dont work either
is it possible the ribbon in the stearing column ??? cut .other bits work light ,horn

Definitely check the ribbon cable, there is a control box up inder the dash, might be worth resetting.

When mine packed up a few months ago is was the wire behind the steering wheel had worn through. Easy job to fix, just remove allen bolts from centre of steering wheel and check wiring behind.

good news ive final found the problem ,the wipers are working
after water got in to the wiper box passenger side they stopped.
new box ,still dont work ,checked everything , still not working.
yesterday i could not stand it any longer tool kit out for last time i think .
wiper unit out of car ,strip that down ,looks ok, power test yes it works ,
clean all connections again , push this cable pull that one, check connections in wiper box ,all cleaned again , riben under dash all looks ok , all connections ok , steering wheel switches off they come , swap them about with horn, yes they all work , NO WIPERS STILL. fk it go and have a beer ,
come back check fuse in boot yes thats ok, I GIVE UP AGAIN.
get up this morning , start car to warm her up
the wipers are working
so who ever came round and fixed them in the night I THANK YOU

I had similar problems! Wipers parking wrongly and stopping completely.
Found carpet in passenger side was wet, dried it out, stopped water getting there (proper 'fix' coming soon) wipers work fine again!
