Whirring noise when slowing

Took mine out for a run around the (private) country lanes tonight in preparation for the MOT tomorrow - only second time it has been driven in two years.

Once the engine had got warm/hot I noticed a whirring noise when slowing down, which eventually disappeared below 20-odd mph. Sounded a bit like it was coming from the rear (but had drivers side window down), once I'd put the window up it kinda sounded like it was coming from the passenger seat.

If I had to describe it more I'd say it almost sounded like there was a small hole in the rear window, or a windmill type fan attached to the exhaust.

First thoughts are maybe it is the diff about to blow, or maybe the exhaust is rubbing somewhere? New discs and pads all round so maybe them?

Have you checked diff fluid mate I just done disc and pads on mine no noise from there if it's not been used in so long all moving parts may need bit time to free up hopefully
