has any one used any of the ebay item fault finders are they any good i seen one for 25 bucks and wondering if this will help me find out why my cerb is not runing good starts splutters cuts out only happend since i washed car on sunday there getting peed of with it already only had car for 2 weeks

the fault finder won't work. you can download the software to plug a laptop into the car with a serial cable, depending on ecu connection.

have you checked the obvious bits, plugs, coils, ht leads etc

i have only looked at them not taking any thing off yet to inspect further is there any way to check a coilpack is working
its just very weird how i was driving it during the day then went home washed it then thats when i got the problems

Have you checked for water in the big plug from the wiring harness into the ECU?

If there is water in there you will be getting out of range signals from the sensors which causes the ECU to mess with the fuel and ignition in inappropriate ways.

Its a classic problem after washing or standing in the rain.

The water runs down the outside of the harness or worse gets inside the outer casing and then deposits itself in the connector.

Take the ECU out and check for water in the connector. Also take the lid off the ECU and check for water inside.

This will tell you any faults logged with the ECU
