Took the Cerb out for a blast in the sun today and happen to notice the mileometer was just about to go from 19999 to 20000 miles and then it stopped moving.Did about 2 to 3 miles more and it is still stuck on 19999. The speedo still works fine. Has anyone any ideas on this problem or is it just that TVR
didn't expect the car to last 20000 miles so they saved money on the mileometer by only going upto 19999?
HELP!

Hi Richard,

I think it's a case of TADTS

Mine sticks at every 1,000 and needs to be driven fairly quicky whilst tapping the dial / pushing the reset stalk repeatedly. Just passed 30,000 and that was a complete bugger to get it to release.

Cheers Fred, I will definitely try that!! It sounds like fun. Do you think 150 mph should shift it?

Mine got stuck when i was about to clock 26k. Remained stuck for about 50 - 100 miles and then miraculously started working again. Dont think its anything to worry about

Just to be on the safe side, when the car was last in for a service i got a new Mileometer sensor thingy fitted -about £40.

Mines stuck on 49,999 must be coz its 2 years since the 10's have moved! I'll try the tapping thing, sounds typically TVR

Agree with the others. I'm on my third speedo, and this one still appears to stick for about 50 miles or so at a major mileage break, until blatted & tapped. Very common

So. What we've now found, is that all these low mileage cars out there, have indeed done a lot more miles than indicated.

possibly, but the mileometer probably over reads anyway, knowing TVR
