Sump plug size and thread for a helicoil

In relation to my oil pressure problem (im on about 35psi when hot and on a run.... much less than it was before a service)

I decided to change the oil and filter as the filter may have been knackered on fitment, accounting for the drop in pressure.

Anyway, long story short, went to remove the sump plug and the threads are shot.... So I will need to drill, tap and helicoil it before I can change the oil.

Anyone know what size helicoil is needed?

Stripping the thread is a common problem, Fitting a Sump plug from a Renault is the common fix. Don't ask me why it's a Renault one, but Andy at APM uses this method, so it can't be bad. Buy a Renault plug and tap the sump to suit.

Cheers, do you know what size tap it is? And are they all the same?

Just noticed - theres an M16 Renault one as well! - Give Andy at APM a ring in the morning to confirm which one, otherwise you may be cursing me
