Went out for a quick spin this evening. Everything working and looking fine, but i noticed that every time i turned the steering wheel right there was a faint creaking sound coming from the back (i think ).

Anybody any idea what this might be and if it is serious?

Power steering pump groans when the fluid level is low, but thats at the front ot the car, and would probably make the noise no matter which way you were turning.

Might be a anti roll bar bush that just needs some grease ? (although thats a random guess !)

I have the same, anti-roll bar bushes is most likely.
However mine is as a result of some mumpty who jacked the car up to balance my back wheels on the anti-roll bar right angle and bent it, damaging the bushes and causing the eeeaa-errrr every time I go over a bump!!!

It's going in Monday week to be fixed.

Could be your back, or your elbows, joints all creak as we get older

You've got to be old and creaky to get them insured!

Steering Fluid level is fine, and will check oil tomorrow too, but knowing my car the noise will probably have miraculously disappeared. I suspect it probably needs a liberal application of grease somewhere or other, plus i shall do some vigorous exercises before i drive just to be sure its not me .

Is the anti roll bar/bushes etc easy to get to to apply grease?
