Original 4.5 wheels

As part of a suspension overhaul I'm thinking of taking my wheels back to original. What were the original wheels on a 97 4.5? I'm guessing 17" RL7s but not sure on width. Advice on exact size and where could get a set appreciated.

The original wheels for a 4.5 are indeed Raceline RL7's

Wheel Sizes are 17x8 Front and Rear
Tyres Sizes are : Front 235/40/17 Rear 255/40/17

As to where to get a set, you may be in luck as some chap is selling a set on ebay albeit with a start bid of 400 notes......ouch!

Anyone tried 245 40 17's on the back?

Choice of track tyre is much greater in this size.

Thats what is on the rear of mine just now but its on budget tyres and only owned it for a week or so so cant comment on performance but i will be going for 245 on the rear again after talking with the last owner who has owned quite a few TVR's and thinks that this cerb feels well planted .

I will be trying the new good year eaglr f1 asymmetric on a 245 i think it will help let water out the tyre a little better than the 255 and i dont think i will find the grip limit on the public roads to need the extra width.
