Couple of questions

Hi can anybody help me with a quick couple of questions? First one are the fans on the cerb 13 inch? my skinny one is fookered. Is it easy to remove the timing cover and rocker covers or will something spring out and pop my eye, they both could do with painting cheers jimi

The timing cover cannot be removed without first removing the engine.

Doh just realised I didn't say what engine I have it's a 4.5 if it makes any difference

Still can't get the front cover out in situ though. Rocker covers come off pretty easy though.

Non A/C cars will allow timing cover removal fine, also I have known of at least one other car with A/C where there was sufficient space to get the cover off - typical TVR build tolerances...

Thanks for the replies, so I am guessing the timing cover is one of those things you just need to have a stab at, and it either will or it won't. I don't mind having a go my main concern was that something behind there might spring out and disappear.

To be fair, it's unlikely to come off, however, it might. You must slacken off the timing chain tensioner before removal and ENSURE that you maintain tension on the chain - easier said than done.

If that's the case I'll leave it alone, one thing I don't want to mess with is the timing chain thanks for the heads up

If you're wanting to remove the timing cover because it is leaking oil, don't bother. Even with new sealant on there is a high chance it will just leak oil still.
