I just want to say how fantastic Pistonheads is!!
Discussion
Yesterday I read a thread about sticky mileometers (like mine) on way home tried the reccomended treatment and hey presto worked a treat....Without this board I would have been at TVR asking for a new cable etc as well as lots of other advice over the past few months I just wanted to thank you all out there for your wealth of knowledge and Ted for keeping it all together. Brown nosing over.

How's the Cerbera running Barry? I used to dread reading your threads in case it'd cost you ever more cash, but seeing as I haven't seen any threads about failures recently and you're talking about sticky speedos, it sounds like things have sorted themselves out?
Darren
Hi Darren, she's running a treat now, all in all i've had to shell out about £6k in as many months for as many miles but the end result is fantastic. New set of boots going on next week and 3/4 respray also next week and me and th'owd girl are ready for summer. How are things with you?

Good news, I'm glad to hear you've got over your bad run of problems. I know this is asking for it, but the car's running really well at the moment. My first month was expensive when I had a few problems (electrics, clutch, slave cylinder, wiper motor etc) but since then it has behaved itself. It's just starting to feel like 'my car' having sorted the wheels/tyres, suspension, paint, exhaust, ICE etc out and I'm really looking forward to the Le Mans drive now! It'll be nice to give it a proper run out. I can honestly say that all it needs is the arches shaving and perhaps an ECU remap then I'll be leaving it alone and enjoying the fruits of Joolz's labour!
Darren.

Couldn't agree more.
Watch it Greenwood
. BTW, did you ever get that mail from Joolz to help you with your carputer (on whatever you call them)? If so, any chance of a copy? Darren.

Nah, not got that yet... been too busy trying to deal with shipping issues getting the in-car monitor sent across from China.
Off on holiday this weekend, but will chase it up as soon as I'm back. I was actually considering having a wireless transceiver plugged into the ECU, too, so I never have to frig about with cables in the footwell.

James, why didn't you just buy the batmobile to start with instead of converting a perfectly good TVR?
Couldn't afford a Sagaris.
It'll be nice & subtle... have already torn the transmission tunnel covering apart & put it back together to hide all the GPS/power cables. The only thing visible when I've finished should be a single small screen on top of the stereo. It's just that I want the screen to control/monitor a lot. I'm not interested in huge bass-bin encumbered stereos, rows of amps, etc - even the screen will be removable, I hope. But being able to look up peoples car specs online, having GPS linked to aerial photography, linked to elevation data, projected in 3D, with overlays of speed traps, and remote-garagedoor-opener integration
should be quite sweet.GCerbera said:

Order number one placed here by me![]()
I'm actually having a bit of trouble with integrating the elevation data. I can get it to render the landscape in 3D using the photography, but I can't get it to scroll that automatically with the GPS just yet. Think I might have to wait for some slightly more advanced software.
Will just have to settle for standard overhead photography for now (with camera overlays
). Just wish that screen'd bl**dy hurry up & get here from China so I can stop worrying about that & start sorting the software out. Have already discarded the lowly Thinkpad I was running it all on for a specced-up Compaq Armada... I'd better be able to get some use out of the extra hardware I'm throwing at this.

Nice try. But I think Ted has already given this year's freebie T shirt away. But I do agree with your comments - combined, of course with the bible and Joolz.
