Left home 0815, got to Sunday Service at Mercedes-Benz world at 0915. Had a good nose around and chin wag while wife worked on her laptop in the service area. Just after lunch she decided she wanted to shopping so a hop on the M25 an up the M40 to Bicester (chav central these days) and then the run home.

I arrived back fresh and happy, in any other car I'd have been aching like a B'stard. In any other car I'm not sure I'd have agreed to do it.

Downside? The complete and utter lack of lane discipline by virtually every road user!

I did probably a mile on the A34 on the nearside lane passing cars doing less than 60 in the outside (don't shoot me, I know it's wrong, but I couldn't bear it anymore). But the 'driver of the day' goes to the 730d BMW - yes I remember your private plate dear - on the M40 who brakes from 75 to 60 under every gantry and then braked to match the road speed of any car in the middle lane before creeping by at +2 mph.

Great to hear that you're enjoying the car. It is an awesome piece of kit isn't it.

My kids still talk fondly of it. Last heard only 2 days ago... "Daddy, when we can have another Purple Car??!"

Hi Dave, hope you are over the grief now mate.

Loving the car as much as ever, going to have to up the mileage limit on the insurance I think. Found a Chimaera at the back of the garage the other day!
