New exhaust needed, but which?

My original exhaust system has finally given up the ghost after 66,000 happy miles. The LH tailpipe parted company with the back box on the M6 yesterday afternoon...

So I'm looking for a new rear system. question is, which is best? ACT? Racetec? TVR power?

its a 4.2 and I'm looking for a bit less backpressure but not too much noise increase over standard - want to keep her useable on long journeys

A standard Back Box with de-cats is one of the best exhaust systems you can get. Try the Breakers for a used back box.

Get a custom built stainless one at a Powerflow place, there will be one locally i should imagine, i have used them on a few occasions including on the last cerb and cant praise them enough, cheap as chips and a lifetime guarantee.

what sort of price you talking for a powerflow do you have any picture

I had a couple of Longlife back boxes made for my Tuscan, £50 each.

I had a system made from the decat pipes back and had removable track cans made up which i could swap for the tailpipes, was around £400 iirc, stainless and a lifetime warranty, guaranteed to fit too as its made up on the car as an individual item. No rattles!

Sounds good - there's no Powerflow place near me but there's a place called pipecraft not too far away which looks similar. I'll give em a try. thanks chaps

Do they set the system for the car or do you have to get it mapped after to match the exhaust?

Powerflow will do whatever you ask them to do, so the best bet is to make it as close to the original in terms of size. (pipe ID). They can't do a standard back box silencer, so they will use inline silencers at the rear.
Longlife Exhausts offer exactly the same service as Powerflow - If anyone is near Leeds, I recommend Tony Banks on 01132 089 830. He has done a lot of exhaust systems for TVR's.

I've also got a standard back box for sale, it's off a 4.5, i don't know if that makes a difference!
