Should i buy a Speed 6 Cerbera?

Any thoughts on the speed 6 please. I want the good, bad and ugly of owning a speed 6 cerbera, i currently have Chim 4ltr and can't decide whether to change. Thanks

Speed 6 are better for using everyday. Better beast for regular roads in my opinion. Just make sure you get complete service history.

A chimp 4.0 is good for pootling about. A S6 cerb is similarly useful. You can then move up to an AJP later if you fancy something more demanding.

I think a sorted s6 will give you pretty good service. If you have not driven cars with the different engines then you should..

Had mine for 2 years a no problems so far! Just make sure you get one that has been sorted. If it has done over 20K then it has probably already had a rebuild and will give you plenty of years service

I tried a 4.5 before settlin on the Speed 6. Much more civilised if you actually intend to use it regularly!

Sorry I should have said, drive a sorted v8 and a sorted s6 first. My 4.5 lw can be very civilised.

It has done only 16,000 miles, FTVRSH, and is only 14,500.

Wow - same car would have been less than that 4 years ago. They have held firm. Far too low a mileage I would say.

I have a Speed Six absolutley no regrets, but I new that as I had a Tuscan Speed Six before the Cerbera.
I think Speed Six Cerbs are great value at this time.

I just bought a 4.5 Red Rose, it's my first TVR so I have nothing to compare it to but I'm amazed at how civilised it is to drive when you don't boot it.

I may sell my 4.5 around March if I can find a suitable race car for the 2011 season. I was going to keep the Cerb and not race this year but now I'm not so sure as it might be the last season I get to compete due to work and personal commitments.

Drop me a mail if you want the run down on the car but I had told the previous owner they'd have first dibs on it.

I've driven S6 and 4.5 Cerbs (never a 4.2 though) and have to say the S6 is a nicer daily drive but after a 4.5 just feels so lacking, the aggresion of the AJP is what really makes the Cerbera what it is and it feels a bit like the "sensible" option with an S6 in it.... which I suppose was the point LOL

Thanks for all the replies so far, but i'm still as confused as ever! I guess we all have our favourites, our good and bad experiences (its TVR after all!) and dare i say budget. I am going to view a couple, both S6 and AJP, and decide what to do after that. Please keep the comments coming in, thank you

If you are unsure which engine you need, then you're a speed 6 man. I find V8 people know it's what they want and don't want to compromise.

I got a 4.5 for said reason. :P
