getting the cats off

just passed her mot ,so its time to get the cats off ,not a hard job i think
any thing to look out for , will it effect the running ?

i've had my cats off for a couple of months now and runs fine, less heat through the gearbox as well. my local family exhaust place only charged me £35 to fit which was great after thinking about how long it would take to jack the car up etc etc

It's a doddle to remove them.

You may notice a "flat-spot" under acceleration for a while but it will probably disappear after a few drives as the ECU "learns" the new set-up.

As mentioned it’s pretty straight forward. Getting to a couple of the nuts/bolts can be a bit fiddly, depending on the orientation of the clamp when they were last tightened. Biggest hassle is tightening it all back up with the back pipes sitting level and straight. Really a two person job at this stage. Leave the tails hanging on the rubbers but watch when you separate each half as the front will obviously drop and the tail will “ram” it’s self up against the body work.
