I have an intermittent problem where the car won't start, i have had bypass relay fitted which runs from the 100amp fuse but also wired in a LED so i can see i am getting voltage to it after the button is pressed. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or idea of how it the circuit runs including the ignition box etc.
I don't think it’s the immobiliser as most times after several button presses it will start without have to reactivate the alarm or immobiliser.
Any help would be appreciated.

I seem to remember someone here, and not too long ago, mentioning that they had to keep their finger on the start button for a long time to get the car to fire up,as if the delay for the soleniod timer had increased.... but i cant remember who it was!! Maybe this is might work for you?

Still have to hold finger on button, however the car's currently under cover awaiting an insurance inspection,
I've been told it's a dirty connection to the starter solenoid, which warms up as i hold my finger on the button, sounds like s*ite to me, but the mechanic hasn't let me down yet

Same explanation I got. They said that it sounded like the contact was dirty and as you kept the finger on it eventually got hot enough to burn through the cr*p which meant it would work for a period after that until the cr*p built up again.
However, I got the solenoid contacts checked when the car was serviced and they were clean. Saying that, It has only happened once since the beginning of January.
It could be that but equally it can be the connections between the immobiliser and the starter control circuit. These can corrode and thus act like an immobiliser. The immobiliser says go but the signal doesn't get to where it should. Without this signal no voltage is available to switch the relay etc on and thus the problems.
It gets a bit difficult to describe what to do as this info also explains how to bypass the immobiliser which is not the sort of information that should be on a public site.
