I am sure someone will buy it as an 'easy' fix. IMHO the panels, chassis, lights, lx, paint, exhaust etc costs mean min £3.5K to spend. I suspect it could be a little less if you can do much yourself OR more should there be hidden problems. But a good car without a CAT C write off rating could be found for not much more than the cost of this (plus repairs).
That's surely 4K of repair plus the usual grand to sort any other bits you find along the way, it's at the age where it may well need outriggers as well etc. etc. Seems an awful lot of wedge (no pun intended) to end up with a Cat C car!
A perfectly usable, never been damaged, decent 4.5 is 12 - 13K now and is likely to have had a proper outrigger refurb etc. For about a grand more that makes much more sense to me!

I would imagine it would be hard for anyone to get more than £10k back on a Cat C 4.5, so at that price you've got £3k to spend to repair AND get the car up to a good standard before you're spending money you'd never get back.
Unfortunately I think the seller/we are in a bit of a catch 22 situation. I think the value of that car is closer to £5k, but at that value is makes much more sense to break it = one less Cerbera that will ever see the road again. In a strange way I hope the seller sells it for the asking price as it would then mean it's more likely to be repaired.

Yikes, definately worth saving, but the costs would be borderline with just picking up a non-damaged car... we need the values of these stunning cars to reach more appropriate levels, so cars like this can be repaired in an economically viable way. I believe there are less Cerberas out there than F40s, TVR as we know it has gone and this was the flagship during its most successful era... people will realise this eventually.
In the next couple of months I will be starting a rebuild of a damaged car I bought a while ago. I have located the parts I need and will be doing a proper job of the refurb including taking the body off to check the chassis. Hopefully it will be in good condition as its an 02 plate, but either way it will be gatting a full strip down, re-paint/powder coat before the rebuild starts. I will keep you all informed with the progress when i start it and may be asking for your wealth of knowledge along the way.
