Well after one year and 6000miles (ie nicely run in) I decided it was time to go for a power run at Noble Motorsport today. I'm very pleased to say that the Cerb made 437.6BHP!! This is with standard exhaust and airboxes. The lambda was inside the zone all the way between 3000/7500rpm so I don't think there is much more to come from any remapping. Not sure I can get anymore at all.

What do you reckon Joolz, do you think we can break 450BHP?!

is that some sort of unoffical cerb record then, don't think I've heard of a higher figure (this side of NoS anyway ).
More impressive, I'm sure I read somewhere that the Noble RR readings are pretty conservative as well, which makes it a double .

Well done. We have not had our car tested but we thought the figure had to be towards 440bhp based on the sort of performances we have achieved with our RR - not to be published on line!!!

best regards

Nice one Washy!...good to see some 400+ figures...by the way how acurate are Nobles rollers..do you have a +/- figure that can be applied to your bhp output, or is this a 'fact' figure?

Hi all .. yupm i think that's an unassisted Cerbera record isn't it? .. beat the 428bhp of the previous car. well done

sorry i couldn't make it down there, have lost my secretary for 18 days (that's a bit careless isn't it?) and I don't pick up my phone m,essages as regularly as i should.. bugger.

don't know about incresing the peak figurs any .. from evidence at emerald it appears the factory work hard to get the high peak figures anyway .. but gains can be made everywhere else .. whether that's true on yuor particualr car or not i don't know .. I suspect if they took a bit of time over the mapping gains would be small to non existent on that engine... however ..

at that sort of power you're right on the limit for the non-tuscan race inlets (2mm larger) so you might gain something by thinning the butterfly spindles or machining the inlet and fitting larger buterflies in there .. and if you're on the std filter then get a bigger flowing version with proper cold ducting .. julian rowntrees car made big torque gains when he fitted his alloy air feed box.

450 might be on if you're lucky

satman - not sure about the accuracy. I used this rolling road as I know Joolz does and several other Cerbera's have been measured there so it was more for comparison than anything else.

Congrats on the 437break.

Would love to see that baby on a 2 mile run...

if GCerbera gets that Cerbera shootout runway he's looking into sorted out, you have to come and show us this beast burning 430+break on the tarmac!

So theres been no reports of any non-aspirated cerbies over 440break yet?

Fella's, whats the winning differences (technically) between the 4.5 and the 4.5RR on the engine side of things?

No such thing as a 'fact' figure really. All rolling roads will read differently. In fact even if you ran the same car on a different day you would get different numbers. Dynos are really for comparison purposes, before and after, to see how much extra your tuning work has yielded.

The Jap forums are full of arguments about dyno types, about correction factors to convert from wheel horsepower to flywheel figures, and transmission losses. Some people take it all a bit too seriously.

437bhp at the flywheel is awesome. If it was measured on another dyno it might make more, might make less, doesn't really matter. At the end of the day the engine is making the power it was supposed to, so the owner must be well chuffed.

Fantastic Washy!!!!!!! 437.6bhp - what was the torque like???

Definately need to get your car onto a Vmax session, if only to go after a victory for standard powered cars...

How can I convince dad to get the Cerbera rebuilt to RR spec?? :scratchin:

1) Not sure 6000 miles is that run in, considering how "tight" AJPs are on start-up, I expect yours will need a few more miles before peak power is there

2) 97.24 BHP/L is absolutely phenomenal for a two valver. Well done Washy, but on St George's Day, also well done TVR. Isn't that just 2.4 BHP under the marketing figure everybody takes the p*ss out of?

etc

ENJOY!!!!

What was that at the wheel before correction then .
