This was done on purpose.. we both witnessed it but as the police were already on their way kept quiet until they got there. Only she let him go before detaining him. A bit of a mix up on her behalf but his actions on making a quick exit will add to the evidence against him.

I can't see the photos from here but an attack on the vehicle is clearly criminal damage and should be pursued. sadly, incidents of this nature can sometimes escalate so it needs dealing with.
To comment on an earlier post, running away is not evidence of anything but I understand the sentiment
Keep a log of anything that happens, including phone calls, emails, comments made in the street, anything - include dates, times, any witness. Obviously detail the damge to the car (dated photos etc.) and keep a record of any other losses (time off work to get quotes, repairs etc.).
It is always useful to go into any of these things confident you are as well prepared as possible.
Depending where you live, some areas view this type of thing as an extention of domestics abuse which tends to add weight to legal action (you said he is her ex).
It's a pain and stressful, I hope yiou get is sorted very quickly, very besy of luck

Really sorry to hear that you and new GF are getting such greif from a t
t like that....... however tempting it is to do it, prob not worth admonishing physical revenge - only has potential to land you in a pile of sh
t and for him to drag you down with him into his own sorry miserable meaningless crap life........ Besides, revenge is a dish best served cold (and in this case, by someone else totally unconnected to you at a time you have an iron clad alibi ???)
Did you manage to film / get photo's of him doing it? Sounds like for future incidents best keep a camera with video capabilities near the window / door to capture any potential future misbehaviour.
Gutting though it is - it's a scratch to a car and can be fixed. This idiot needs stopping now before it escalates and someone gets hurt.
